Sensei Miranda Wood
Sensei Miranda Wood, 2nd Dan, has won medals in National, European and World championships in Kata and Kumite. Before teaching Karate Miranda was a nursery teacher.
Miranda began her Karate journey aged 34 with Sensei Julia Heenan. It was a great opportunity to build an even stronger bond with her children who already started karate but soon became a passion of her own. She then trained with Sensei Ian Cuthbert and attained her black belt. "Sensei Ian has helped me to build confidence, which allowed me to believe in myself to make me the person I am today."

"My Karate journey has only just begun. I will continue to learn as many skills as I can, passing these onto my students. I love Karate. Teaching it, watching my students grow in ability and win medals at competitions brings me great satisfaction. Karate has brought me into this huge community of like-minded people who share my passion to become great athletes and teachers."
Sensei Miranda's motto is, "The true test of a champion lies not on whether he/she can triumph, but whether he/she can overcome the obstacles". So never give up!
